Africa in Fact Issue 24, July 2014: The youngest continent
This month's Africa in Fact looks at the continent's young people. Africa’s population is the world’s youngest: half of its inhabitants are under the age of 19, according to the United Nations’ population division. The world mean is 29 years. By 2035 Africa’s working-age population, those aged 15-64, will be larger than that of China or India, according to UN projections.
